When you book alloy wheel refurbishment, usually you’ll drop your car off at the refurbisher’s workshop or body shop before the job starts. Next, an expert refurbisher will inspect your alloy wheels, taking careful note of the scuffs and scratches that need to be repaired. After this, the tyres of the affected wheels will be taken off along with the tyre valves and weights. The wheels are chemically stripped back to bare metal using a chemical stripper. Any damage is mechanically removed and repaired then the wheels are blasted this will help the adhesion of the new finish on your alloy wheels and also help to remove some of the corrosion that may be present.


The wheel is then heated up to over 200 degrees this allows the pores of the wheels to open and release any trapped gas or chemicals before the power coat primer is applied and baked then the colour coat is applied to match your chosen colour followed by a powered clear coat, the wheels are then baked for their final cure and once they have cooled down are inspected and QC checked before the tyres are refitted and balanced, and the work is then ready for you to inspect.
